Keeping My Feet Dry

May 25th, 2008 | by rey |

It’s been raining a lot lately where I live here in the Queen City of the South. And along with the rain comes flooded streets, stranded commuters, colds and cough, wet feet… Wet feet for some folks but not me.

I’m glad I bought a pair of Hush Puppies Highlanders. They’re really light weight, comfortable (why would I buy uncomfortable shoes?), slip-ons that I can wear both for work and play plus they’re waterproof. They are seam-sealed with waterproofed leathers and because of this there ain’t no flooded street uncrossable.

Hush Puppies Highlander BlackThese Highlanders have been put to the test many times in the recent days and everytime they have not disappointed. Just yesterday as I alighted from one of our “ubiquitous modes of transport”, there was a river (ok a stream) of water separating me from the sidewalk. I just jacked up my pant legs and nonchalantly walked through the water to point B. If I’d tried to pull that stunt off with my Chuck T’s there’d be an unusable pair of shoes and socks hanging out to dry right now.

Interestingly there aren’t any black versions available for sale even on Hush Puppies website. You can see the Tan version of these shoes there.
