Quick Tip – Speed up Firefox
April 2nd, 2009 | by rey |
Has your Firefox browser become a pale shadow of it’s once spritely self? Let’s say  it takes forever to load or open a webpage. One way to immediately see some improvement in speed would be to delete the browser’s History. In Firefox 3.xx got to Tools -> Clear Private Data and make sure the tick box beside “Browsing History” is checked.
Additionally, you can change the default number of days the browser saves in its history database. Go to Tools -> Options -> Privacy and look for “Keep my history for at least” and change the default 90 days to something like 3-5 days.
I read about this tip here.
P.S. – If you haven’t already, you may want to upgrade your Firefox to 3.0.8. This latest patch update fixes two security issues.
