All Firefox fans, the Release Candidate for version 3.6 is available for download. The updated browser features the updated Mozilla Gecko 1.9.2 rendering platform which is optimized to run on small footprint operating systems like Windows CE and Maemo.
Firefox 3.6 has gone through numerous updates from the Alpha release to Betas 1 through 5 offering hundreds of bug fixes before RC1 was released on January 8. Mozilla promises a better user experience through performance improvements like the ability to run scripts asynchronously to help speed up page loading, improved javascript performance, startup speeds and overall responsiveness. The browser will also feature stability enhancements like better control over third-party software integration and the ability to change the browser’s appearance by a single click through a feature called Personas.
Support for new web technologies like HTML5, CSS and DOM is also built-in.
