Show Me What’s Wrong
January 18th, 2010 | by rey |If you’re like me, you’ve played the part of long distance PC troubleshooting “expert”. It could be a friend or a family member asking you why their computer seems to have a mind of it’s own or doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to. Instead of basing your advice on a few lines in a chat and taking a guess at what they actually see on their screen, why not let them show you exactly what they’re doing and what doesn’t work?
ShowMeWhatsWrong will allow the beleaguered non-techie create a screencast which includes video and even a voice recording of their comments through the computer’s microphone. Once they hit the Stop button, the screencast is automatically processed and uploaded to ShowMeWhatsWrong’s server and email sent to you with a link to the screencast.
Now there are a good number of apps out there that can help with remote PC diagnosis like Teamviewer and GotoMyPC to name a few but what sets this apart is how much of a no-brainer it is to use and requiring no installation.
Check out the video for a quick walk-through about using the service:
